Some internet business opportunities provide pre-written sales copy and that is great to get started with. When you join my team youwill have immediate access to sales copy that is working for othermembers of the team.
These pre-written ads are brilliant to launch your business and people are achieving success without ever using their own copy. There is a lot to be said, however, for learning the art of copywriting. Eventually you are going to want to point people on yourlist to other things and then you are going to need to communicateeffectively yourself.
So how do you write an ad? Many people use the structure thatfollows "A-I-D-A-S" Here is how it works.
First of all you must grab the ATTENTION of your prospectivecustomers. You will do that with a headline and your openingsentence and paragraph.
Secondly you need to secure the prospect's INTEREST. So now youintroduce your product and show your prospects why they should beinterested in your it.
The next stage is to create DESIRE. Tell your prospects about theproduct but word it in such a way that will create a desire in themfor the product. The way to do this is to get a sheet of paper andto write out all the features of your product/ business.
Take yourtime and do this thoroughly. Which of these features would most benefit the people at whom you are aiming your ad? Now re-writethose features in terms of benefits. Let me use two examples from myown business. I'll state the feature first and then state the samefeature as a benefit.
EXAMPLE 1
Success University has over 200 streaming audio and video coursesfrom top personal development coaches.
Enrol in Success University and turn your life around with the helpof over 200 streaming audio and video courses from some of theworlds best personal development coaches.
EXAMPLE 2
Success University pays its students commission for every studentthey introduce enabling some students to build a substantialmonthly income.
With Success University you can earn whilst you learn by introducing others to this life changing product and with a little advertising you can build a substantial monthly income.
In each of the above examples the first sentence states the barefact. The second states what difference the fact will make to yourprospects. It is by outlining benefits that you will create desire.
Now you have grabbed your propects' attention, secured theirinterest and built a desire you need to suggest ACTION. This issimply an instruction as to what to do next. Now you wnat them tobuy, visit your website or fill in a form. A warning here is thatspam filters look for phrase like "buy now." It will be helpful ifyou can be a little more creative in suggesting an action to your prospects.
Some copy writers stop with action but there is another element youcan add.
SATISFY - you can end your ad copy with a descriptiuon ofhow your product will satisfy the desires your prospect has.
That is the frame work for your ad copy lets think for a momentabout your content. You can be in-your-face with your advertisingor you can be subtle. That will depend on you and your target customers. If you have come across 'The Rich Jerk' you will haveread ad-copy that delights in being offensive and in-your-face butat the other end of the scale there is ad copy that is far moresubtle. Your ads will still need the 5 elements I have outlined but your language will be softer and more descriptive. Your ad may evenbe filled out with useful instructions or information that yourprospect can use whether or not they buy from you.
Related to this consideration is the issue of hype. You will allhave seen the web pages that suggest that even a novice can makethousands of dollars over night. It is so easy to hype up youropportunity but you need to think about it carefully. Let mesuggest two reasons why you should be honest and build realistic expectations.
Firstly there is the need to maintain good faith with people onyour list. You want them to trust you and to buy from you. Whathappens when they buy their first product and discover it justdoesn't deliver on the hype? Will they be eager customers next timeyou contact them or will they just hit the 'unsubscribe' link atthe bottom of your email?
Hype can be counter-productive forcustomer relations.
Secondly there is the issue of residual income. Residual income ismade up of repeated payments through subscriptions. So I earn acommission on each of my team members monthly membership fee withSuccess University. I've been involved in businesses in which theinitial sale had a high ticket price that made the residual incomelook like peanuts. The effect was that once they had your cash theyjust weren't interested. They would have to keep you on board foryears to make from you what they made from fresh sales. In thiscase hype didn't matter because it was the first sale that counted. In my opinion the best businesses focus on residual income. Thatmeans it is in my interest to keep my team happy and successful. IfI hype up the reality of Success University and create falseexpectations no one will stay on my team. I need people to comewith big dreams and high hopes but realistic expectations.
In case you have seen hyped up claims for Success University let mejust be clear that not all Sucess University people would agreewith me here. My goal is to build a successful team of happypeople. I don't want to leave a chain of disgruntled people behindme. I want ambitious people who can dream big dreams and set biggoals but who know what it will take to get there. My team is in itfor the long haul and together we are going to succeed by beinghonest, real and ambitious. Hype will ruin my dreams and workagainst my goals and my conscience is happier when I sell somethingreal rather than an impossible dream.
Join the team today and let me show you how to make your dreams areality - http://tinyurl.com/yt9rb6
